The ICP system that pulls 100 perfect buyers in 45 minutes

(and what 95% of founders still get wrong)

Hey team – hope you’re ready to crush it this week 👊

One founder scraped lists for days and added 12 “maybe” ICPs.

Another found 100 qualified buyers in 45 minutes.

Same niche.
Same offer.
Same tools.

So what changed?

Let’s break it down together 👇

Here’s what the 12-ICPs founder did

  • Typed vague keywords and hoped LinkedIn’s algorithm helped
Example: searched “ecommerce brands” or “DTC companies” (no title, no platform) → mixed results: agencies, SaaS tools, marketplaces.

  • Collected agencies/SaaS/marketplaces by mistake
Example: added “GrowthLab Agency,” “EmailSaaS.io,” and “MarketPlacePro” because they had “e-commerce” in the tagline—but none sold physical products direct-to-consumer.

  • Messaged everyone with the same template
Example: “Hi {first}, do you have 30 minutes this week to explore synergies?” → low replies, flagged as generic.

And here’s what the 100-ICPs founder did

  • Searched job title + platform + niche (People tab)
    Examples you literally type:
    • head of marketing shopify skincare (UK, NL, DE filters)
    • ecommerce manager bigcommerce apparel (Australia)
    • crm manager shopify lifecycle (NY, MA, FL)
Result: decision-makers at real DTC brands selling physical goods.

  • Ran a Google X-ray to surface hidden decision-makers
    Examples to search on Google:
    • site:linkedin.com/in Head of Marketing (Shopify OR WooCommerce) (United Kingdom OR Netherlands)
    • site:linkedin.com/in ("E-commerce Manager" OR "Head of E-commerce") (BigCommerce OR Magento) (Germany OR France)
    • site:linkedin.com/company (Shopify OR BigCommerce) ("online store" OR "direct to consumer") (Spain OR Italy)
Result: additional profiles and company pages LinkedIn’s in-app search didn’t show.

  • Used a 60-second QA (DTC checkout, platform hint, headcount 2–200) and only saved the fits
Example QA on the company site:
    • DTC check: “Add to cart” present; products = serum, leggings, coffee beans (not services)
    • Platform hint: Shopify in footer/careers or a Shopify checkout URL pattern
    • Size: LinkedIn headcount shows 11–50 (within 2–200 range)
If any fail (agency/SaaS/marketplace only), skip and move on.

  • Bonus—messaged with proof-first, five lines
Example opener: “Booked 17 calls in 7 days with a 5-line opener + two exact slots. Noticed your launch. I can send the wording + timing. No deck; 9 mins live. Tue 10:15 or Wed 14:00?”

No extra time. No extra spend. Just smarter system design.

You don’t need Sales Nav.
You don’t need paid lists.
And you don’t need to spam.

Just plug into what’s already working.

✅ From this playbook, you’ll learn:
– Exactly what to type for title + platform + niche searches
– The X-ray patterns that find buyers your in-app search misses
Location/industry filters that lock in EU, AU, and US-ET
– A 15-minute signal sweep (hiring, launches, funding, posts)
– The logging sheet + first DM that turns lists into meetings

Have a great week — reply and tell me which search flow you’re testing first.
